I really like the way you use props to scale the pictures. The lighting is extremely complimentary to the subject. Very nice.

There are lots of different HDR programs out their and most of the really expensive ones are terrible.

Recently we posted an article with links to a FREE HDR program that is far better than many of the “pro” versions.

HDR Photography

gordyamitchell sent in this question regarding HDR

Where is the best place to receive free information and possibly any software needed to start exploring HDR photography. I am an amateur in every sense of the word. A little slow on learning but have nothing but time. Nikon D7000 and Speed Light SB- 700 flash unit. 28mm to 300mm is my only lens.

While reading this and looking at the photos I laughed. Not because it is at all funny but because I can see myself being one of those people. My two favorite things are photography and wild animals and when I put the two together I constantly am guilty of “forgetting” they are wild. The is especially true when it comes to anything furry. I will get rigt up close … many times within arms reach if possible.

Thanks I appreciate the compliments. It sure is a beautiful area down there. I live in Washington and went there this past weekend for a little mini vacation with a couple of friends. I hope to go back down there soon and have more time to explore with my camera.

Oh yes! I forget the name of the place but it was next to the funky seafood place with the hats on the walls.

I was in Coos Bay a time or two. The little fishing town just out of North Bend was really interesting.

I remember photographing the huge pile of shells outside of some factory for about an hour.

I see you were born in Coos Bay. As it turns out my wife and I lived their for about 5 years. Just off of Elrod and down the street from the Prefontaine’s.

I sure do miss Ocean and the amazing landscape.
